This was a birthday gift for Derek's mom. This is the only picture I took before we mailed it off, but it has a cute little slip stitch pattern. Why is this special? I 'designed' it (not much to it), started it, and ended it, but Derek knit most of it. So this really is a gift from the both of us! What I think is funny is that I didn't include "instructions" with it - Derek's mom knew what it was but his dad thought it was a super wide headband for the cold! It could technically work that way too, I guess.
This weekend has been a knitty weekend so far. I've been working on my second shawl of '10, the Ulmus. I'm making the large size so it will still be awhile before I finish. Maybe I'll try to take photos of it tomorrow.
Since I'm guessing you're not bored to death of pictures of my with my 'things', I'll leave you with another. (Gimme a break - for 6 months I had to be my own photographer. Now that Derek's back you can actually see what these 'things' really look like!) This is the first lace scarf I made, that I finished back in October I think. It's the Meandering Vines pattern. I love it, but I don't wear it that much because I'm afraid of snags. Am I becoming more of a process knitter vs product knitter??
It's a great size because while I can wear it as a scarf, I can also use it as a wrap. I think I will re-block this one sometime soon since I have wires for it now. I'll try to post something more interesting soon! Maybe the pictures from my mom's first mag debut!
That is such a gorgeous cowl...so special and very meaningful! You and Derek are both so talented. :) Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and love to you!

I am really falling hard for cowls. I should maybe think about learning to knit.
